The Demands Of A New Relationship Of Single’s With Increasing Age

With increasing age, the demands on a new relationship also change for single women and men.

Singles Over 40

Single women and men over 40 estimate their chances of finding a partner quickly to be significantly lower than younger ones. The confidence of finding a partner soon drops to 40 % for singles between 40 and 50 years of age, and to 40% for single women. But that does not mean that the demands on a new relationship will be scaled down – on the contrary: women are still demanding when looking for a partner, although they want a lot of freedom. 95 % of the women aged 40 and over place particular value on their potential partner being humorous – which is rated even more important than loyalty. Good looks on the other hand, play a subordinate role. While many single men between 40 and 50 years of age still want children, the desire for children among single women of the same age is falling significantly. The importance of good sex for the relationship also decreases somewhat in this age group.

Singles Over 50

With increasing age, the confidence of singles to find a new partner drops to 35%. At the same time, however, over 50 % of those over 50 are satisfied with being single. Women between 50 and 59 years of age in particular want a lot of freedom and time for themselves and their activities. Many singles in the 50 – age group want to rediscover themselves and develop through the relationship. The new partner should also be the best friend at the same time – a trait that is considered more important for singles over 50 than in any other age group. Sex, on the other hand, seems to be losing importance, especially for women over 50. Only 70 % of those surveyed state that good sex is important in a relationship.

Singles Over 60

Confidence in finding a partner is comparatively low between the ages of 60 and 70: only one in four believes that they will soon find a new love. On the other hand, 65%  of singles are satisfied with their life and at the same time more freedom loving. The demands on the characteristics of finding a partner remain high: the newcomer should have an educational qualification and be financially stable.
